The land is as diverse a recreational hunting tract as you could hope to find. There are gently rolling hardwood bottoms full of mature nut bearing timber. These bottoms offer ideal habitat for the deer and turkey. There are several large greenfields with shooting houses that have been carved out amongst hardwood draws and both mature and young pine. 173 acres of wetlands with valuable timber are a great place to hunt ducks and also provide areas for those swamp bucks to bed down. Additionally, there approximately 87 acres of excellent plantation pine ready to be thinned and another 43 acre stand of planted loblolly that has had its first thinning. Additionally, there is over 100+ acres of mixed timber that has been thinned through over the years.

Wallahatchee Creek runs through the center of the property. There’s a small two acre fishing hole for those who enjoy wetting a line and a well maintained interior road system. The property on the south side of the wetlands (about 87 acres) must be accessed off Rifle Range Road with permission from another owner.

The Herren Hill Plantation home was built in 1855 by Isaac Ross II. It was acquired by Lt. Daniel Herren around 1870 who was a Lieutenant in the Confederate Army. It has been in the family ever since. It is an antebellum home over 3500 sq ft with white columns and a wrap-around porch. The house is structurally sound but it needs renovating to make it habitable.

The location is second to none. The diverse habitats and topographies provide opportunities for deer, turkey, ducks and camping. (The plantation house is historic and can be salvaged as a camp house with some repairs or restored to its previous glory - if you so choose)
